I’m Trevor Merritt, an Athletic Trainer and Strength & Conditioning Specialist focused on building resilient, high-performing bodies.
My work sits at the intersection of rehabilitation, performance training, and long-term health - applying proven athletic principles to help people move well, perform at a high level, and stay capable over time.
I’ve worked with professional athletes across the NFL, MLB, professional basketball, volleyball, mixed martial arts, as well as individuals outside of sport who take their health and physical capacity seriously.
Regardless of context, the goal remains the same: build a strong foundation, progress intelligently, and sustain performance for the long run.
I don’t view rehab, performance training, and longevity as separate phases. They exist on a continuum and are built from the same principles - adjusted for intensity, context, and readiness.
Training is both the stimulus and the assessment. Rather than relying solely on static testing, I continuously evaluate movement quality, load tolerance, performance output, and recovery response. This allows training to adapt in real time and progress in a way that reflects how the body is actually responding.
Programming balances structure and flexibility. Clear progressions guide development across strength, velocity, movement capacity, and cardiovascular function, while auto-regulation ensures workloads remain aligned with readiness and emerging capacity.
The aim is simple: build capacity first, express it deliberately, and sustain it over time.

Every training plan is built using the same modular system, refined over years of working with athletes across a wide spectrum of demands.
Emphasis shifts based on individual needs, injury history, and phase of training, not arbitrary timelines or rigid templates.
This approach ensures that joint health, tissue quality, strength, power, speed, and endurance are developed in coordination rather than isolation, creating athletes and individuals who are both capable and durable.

For athletes competing at high levels who need to build capacity, express performance, and sustain it through long seasons and long careers.
For individuals who want to train with the same principles used in sport - prioritizing strength, movement quality, and resilience to stay capable and active for decades

Charles Cross
NFL | Offensive Tackle (Seattle Seahawks)
Starting left tackle for the Seattle Seahawks and former first-round draft pick.
Trained privately with Trevor Merritt across multiple offseasons to improve strength, power, and long-term availability.
Training focused on measured workload progressions for force and power production specific to his position, while integrating strength-based mobility and movement variety to support durability.
Training is delivered in person and remotely. Remote coaching is supported through the Merritt Made Human Performance app, which serves as a centralized platform for programming, performance tracking, communication, and ongoing refinement.
Performance and longevity are built from the same foundation. When training is structured, responsive, and aligned with how the body adapts, progress becomes sustainable and capability lasts.
